Brand-specific HVAC repair starts with the system’s model, age and error codes, then moves to the checks every system gets: thermostat demand, airflow, electrical readings and warranty status. For a Lennox, Carrier, Daikin or Trane system the answer is not automatically a replacement; controls, capacitors, airflow and maintenance problems are ruled out first. We are an independent service company, not tied to any manufacturer, so we work on whatever is installed in your home in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara or Cupertino.
What the brand changes, and what it doesn’t
The brand changes how faults are reported, which replacement parts fit and how fast they can be found, and what the warranty asks of you. Some systems with communicating controls also need a matching thermostat. The brand does not change the basics: a clogged filter, a weak capacitor, a worn contactor, a dirty coil or a crushed duct looks the same in any cabinet, and those are checked on every visit.
Brands that share a maker
Several brands on this site come from the same parent company and share designs and parts:
- Carrier, Bryant and Comfortmaker are Carrier Global brands.
- Trane and American Standard are both made by Trane Technologies.
- Lennox and Concord, its budget-tier sister brand, come from Lennox International.
- Amana heating and cooling equipment is built under Daikin ownership.
A shared maker does not mean every part fits. Parts are matched to the model number on your unit, not to the name on the front panel.
Ductless, VRF and smart thermostats
Daikin and LG both build ductless mini-splits, multi-zone systems and variable refrigerant equipment for larger buildings (see VRF/VRV systems). Ductless systems are how many Eichler homes in Sunnyvale and Cupertino get cooling, since the radiant slab leaves no ducts to use; for that work see ductless mini-splits. Rheem covers the conventional side: central AC, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers and package units. Sensi makes smart thermostats, and a thermostat that never calls for heat or cooling is ruled out before any equipment gets blamed.
Warranty and manufacturer-paid repairs
Brand names on this site describe equipment we evaluate and service. For warranty claims or manufacturer-paid repairs, check the equipment paperwork and the manufacturer’s requirements before you approve work. New parts carry the manufacturer’s warranty, and our repairs are backed by a warranty covering both parts and labor.
Brands without their own page
Goodman, York, Ruud, Mitsubishi Electric and Fujitsu equipment, and thermostats from Honeywell, ecobee and Nest, get the same diagnosis. Before the visit, take a photo of the equipment label: the model number tells the technician which parts and procedures apply, and the serial number often shows the year the unit was made. On a furnace the label is usually inside the lower access door; on an outdoor unit it is a data plate on the cabinet. Then book an AC repair or furnace repair, or call (650) 603-5182.
